Our Mission
It is the mission of the Foundation to enhance health care delivered to the people of West Virginia by:
- Supporting selected goals and projects of the WV Chapter AAFP, as well as other professions and organizations that promote family medicine, within our 501(c)(3) tax status.
- Developing and providing philanthropic resources for the promotion and support of the specialty of Family Medicine.
- Bringing together Family Medicine organizations to coordinate activities and maximize resources.
Our History
The Family Medicine Foundation of West Virginia is the philanthropic arm of the West Virginia Academy of Family Physicians and as a 501c-3 charitable organization, funds a scholarship program for needy medical students in our state as well as other charitable projects.
The Family Medicine Foundation of West Virginia was authorized by the Board of Directors of the West Virginia Chapter of the American Academy of Family Physicians and received its status on October 7, 1982.
